| Bevan Wu, PhD
MANCEF Contributions Dr. Wu has been key to holding successful commercialization events with MANCEF in Taiwan and has served as an advisor to MANCEF on US-Taiwan initiatives. Education Bevan received his B.S. degree from the National Taiwan University, a M.S. degree from the Ohio State University, and a Ph.D. degree from Stanford University. All these degrees were in Electrical Engineering. Career Dr. Wu has managed projects from semiconductor product development, automated IC manufacturing systems and Expert System for manufacturing applications. He implemented the first IBM automated IC manufacturing system. He introduced Expert System technology to IBM locations worldwide. Bevan took early retirement from IBM Yorktown Research in 1992, and started his own engineering and management-consulting firm, BW & Associates. He was the Senior Advisor of MIRL/ ITRI of Taiwan. He led a team of MIRL engineers and completed a Philips automated $350M color monitor tube plant in Taiwan. He managed ITRI's Advanced Integrated Circuit Fabricator Design Program and implemented his patented New IC Fabricator design. He also consulted with Taiwan corporations like TSMC and WYSE on semiconductor engineering and manufacturing issues. In 1999 Bevan was CEO of Lexel Laser, Inc., a laser company in Fremont, CA, and developed Deep Ultra Violet lasers for semiconductor equipment applications. Presently he is Senior Advisor to ITRI-International and Electronics Optoelectronics Research Laboratories of ITRI Taiwan. He is a Member at Large of SEMI North American Standards Regional Committee and an Adviser to SEMI International Standards Committee. © MANCEF - Micro And Nanotechnology
