Henne van Heeren

Henne van HeerenMr. van Heeren has his own consulting and market research company (EnablingM3) in the field of Micro- and Nanotechnology. With his business associates, EnablingM3 investigates all aspects of the supply chain for MST/MEMS. Henne advises organisations on commercialisation and supply chain management issues.

MANCEF Contributions
Mr. van Heeren is a long-time participant of the COMS conference series, and was a Chapter Leader on the Foundries chapter in both the 1st and 2nd Editions of the MANCEF International Micro Nano Roadmap. EnablingM3 is also a publications partner providing MANCEF members with access to industry reports.

Career
After studying chemistry at the University of Utrecht, Henne worked at the University Delft on research on rapid solidification of metals.

He subsequently joined Philips Electronics as a Development Engineer. Stationed at the Philips research facilities, he became responsible for the transfer and industrialization of the thin film magnetic heads technology from the research to the industry. As a Waferfab production manager he extended the clean room, bought equipment, and transformed the production organization from a low volume work shop to a three shift high volume activity.

To expand the scope of the OnStream business, a strategy for expansion of activities in to the area of MST/MEMS was developed and executed by him. Several new processes and products were introduced into the organization under his responsibility. This work was done in close collaboration with other small companies specialized in research and development activities. He was responsible for several (inter)national (EC and national supported) projects aimed at development of products and processes. As a Business Development Manager ('01-'03) he changed the MST activity from a sideline show to the business core.

Currently Henne runs his own company and assists companies in industrialization of their Micro and Nano products. Together with his colleagues of enablingMNT he wrote several reports about the MNT supply chain.
