MEMS News from Germany

The MikroSystemTechnik Kongress 2015 (http://www.mikrosystemtechnik-kongress.de/), the largest German language MEMS conference, will be held in Karlsruhe, Germany, 26-28 Oct 2015 and is subtitled „From Component to System“. The conference is sponsored by the VDE (Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies), the State of Baden-Württemberg, and the BMBF (Germany’s Federal Ministry for Education and Research). It coincides with the 300th anniversary of the foundation of Karlsruhe, the 20th anniversary of IMTEK, and the 10th anniversary of MicroTECSüdwest.

IMTEK (https://www.imtek.de/en) stands for Department of Microsystems Engineering at the University of Freiburg in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. With currently more than 250 graduate students and 20 research groups, it is Germany’s largest research institute dedicated to all aspects of MEMS.

MicroTECSüdwest (microtec-suedwest.de/en/), also headquartered in Freiburg im Breisgau, is a cluster with currently more than 350 well-known companies, institutions of higher education, and research institutes as active members.
