About MANCEF: Board of Directors Bill Higdon Bill Higdon received a Bachelor's degree and an MBA from San Jose State University. In 1975, Mr. Higdon founded Santa Clara Plastics, Inc. and built it into the largest semiconductor wet bench manufacturer in the world. In 1981 he started another semiconductor capital equipment company, Estek. Estek developed a totally automated RCA batch cleaning, rinse/dry, and wafer sorting station. In 1988 he assisted in the turnaround of Optical Specialties, Inc., a line-width-measuring company. In 1990, he took Microsensor Technology, Inc. from bankruptcy to one of the Bay Area's 100 fastest growing privately held companies. MTI had a 4" silicon fab and manufactured its own high-speed silicon sensors and microvalve arrays for their high-speed gas chromatography instruments. Mr. Higdon is now retired in Virginia.
