Dan Gale Over the course of his career, Dan's commitment and leadership has helped to enable Canada's distinguished and full participation in the global microsystems community. Career With over 20 years of experience in the microelectronics sector, Dan has developed and shaped CMC programs to enable university researchers to collaborate with industry through access to leading-edge technologies—a portfolio that now includes photonics, microfluidics and MEMS as well as microelectronics. In 2000, he led an initiative for a national System-on-Chip Research Network involving 33 universities. In 2001, similar effort led to a funding award for the National Microelectronics and Photonics Testing Collaboratory, involving 21 universities. On a continuing basis, he serves as an officer of CMC's Board, Vice-Chair of the corporate Technical Advisory Committee and Chief Delegate (Canada) to the annual World Micromachine Summit. He is also a Director on the Board of the Canadian Photonics Consortium (CPC). MANCEF Contributions Dan has been active in the development of MANCEF initiatives, helping to build global partnerships that support Canadian interests. Through CMC, he has been a key contributor to the success of COMS 2004, helping to link the event to the larger Micro-Nano community in Canada. © MANCEF - Micro And Nanotechnology
