Program Highlights
As always, we promise a COMS
full of networking opportunities and information exchange from the key
users of small technology. We are also working hard to bring you examples
of the challenges that others have faced in commercializing these disruptive
technologies, and the solutions to overcoming these challenges. We have
highlighted the current hot button issues & topics in micro nano commercialization.
Some program highlights include:
A review of potential energy saving and energy creating devices discussed
by Bob Warrington of Michigan
Tech, Robert Mehalso of Microtec Associates, and
Herwig Kirchberger of EVG,
amongst others. From Energy Scavenging at the Microscale, and Utilizing
novel MEMS Technologies and Equipment for Next
Generation Photovoltaic Applications, to Applications of Nanotechnology
in High Performance Microbatteries, the Energy Stream is sure to be well
attended.
The Manufacturing at a Small
Scale stream will offer insights from Junji Adachi of
Micromachine Center on ‘Fine MEMS
Project': Technology Development of the Next Generation Micro-Nano Systems
, as well as a look at New Generation Products, Materials and Processes,
featuring a presentation by Leslie Derrig of Digital
Matrix Corp. on Flat Panel Plating: New Opportunities and Advancements,
as well as Managing the Diversity in the MEMS Industry from the Viewpoint
on an Equipment Supplier, by Herwig Kirchberger of EVG.
The Emerging Applications
stream will offer insights on the next generation of products and tools.
Micro Air Vehicles: Engine Type - Turbojet or Turboprop? by Anatoly
Sudarev of Center Boyko, Ltd will be discussed along side LJmmis
PROCESS by Imed Zine Zine-El El-Abidine from University
Of Calgary, and Emerging Applications in Micro and Nano Technologies
from the viewpoint of Gil Herrera, Sandia
National Labs
Of course, there are too many
exciting speakers, panels, and presentations to highlight all of them
here. Please visit http://www.mancef-coms2007.org/

About COMS
The International Conference
on the Commercialization of Micro and Nano Systems (COMS) is the leading
annual conference on micro and nanotechnology commercialization education.
It brings together leaders in the field from across the world, representing
organizations and companies from almost every sector of the community.
These include leading industrialists, end users, researchers, equipment
vendors, customers, VC and angel investors, educators, media, professional
organizations, and government. The small tech community gathers at COMS
conferences to learn from others, share their own knowledge, and discuss
and debate points of view - all of which contribute to the advancement
of this emerging field. For everyone concerned about future economic and
business development through the exploitation of MNT, COMS 2007 is a conference
that cannot be missed. Further information on the conference can be found
