COMS 2006 - The world's oldest and largest Micro and Nano commercialization conference. If you are involved in commercializing Micro or Nano technology or systems this is a MUST attend event.

Join MANCEF and Small Tech in the Sunshine, Inc. for the 11th International Conference on the Commercialization of Micro and Nano Systems: COMS 2006. COMS is the oldest and most widely attended international conference on the commercialization of these enabling technologies. The conference will be held in St Petersburg, Florida, USA from 27-31 August 2006.

What is COMS?

The Commercialization of Micro and Nano Systems conference fosters the commercialization of micro and nanotechnologies and addresses commercialization issues unique to these emerging and disruptive technologies. COMS 2006 will bring together key personnel from all over the world and from every sector of the supply chain, including government representatives, top researchers in the field, educators, relevant publication sources, equipment suppliers, end users, and financial experts. The small tech community gathers at COMS conferences to learn from others, share their own knowledge, discuss and argue points of view – all of which contribute to the advancement of this emerging field. Scope of Conference Topics:

COMS 2006 addresses the issues related to building successful MNT firms, regions and educational programs.

Abstracts are being solicited for the following topics:

  • Niche and high volume applications
  • The role of roadmaps
  • Packaging, integration and prototyping commercialization issues
  • Development of reliability and standards
  • Equipment, test, and design developments
  • Social implications of nanotechnology
  • The role of venture capitalists/angels
  • The role of governments, development agencies and universities
  • Building successful MNT regional clusters
  • Education and workforce development
  • Emerging applications
  • Commercialization using HARMST/LIGA
  • Next generation of small technologies

An exhibition of equipment suppliers, service providers, product suppliers and consultants will be held in conjunction with COMS 2006.

How to Submit an Abstract to COMS 2006

To have your abstract considered for presentation at COMS 2006, please email your abstract to abstracts@mancef-coms2006.org by 30 April 2006.

Submissions must be in Microsoft Word format (*.doc).

Please submit your paper without document protection. This enables us to combine all documents in one master file for reviewing.

The abstract should not exceed two pages.

Please include a summary BEFORE the detailed abstract.

The subject line of the email should contain the words "COMS2006 abstract" and the last name of the principal author.

  • Indicate the topic of the conference which fits best to your paper (see topic at the call for papers) or use "others"
  • In your abstract, clearly indicate the contribution of your submission to the commercialization of micro and nanotechnology.
  • Clearly indicate what is new in your presentation
