The 11th Annual International Commercialization of Micro and Nano Systems Conference, COMS 2006, brought together key people from across the world and from every sector of industry, including end users, equipment suppliers, angel investors, venture capitalists, government representatives, and academics.

COMS 2006 offered exciting keynote speeches, relevant, timely sessions on commercialization, and as much interactivity as possible, with panel discussions, question and answer periods, as well as break out sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities. See the technical program.

We also offered an exhibition area, located within the meeting and break areas to ensure high visibility and attendance. COMS is an ideal environment for the exchange of ideas and new business development.

COMS 2006 was organized by the Micro and Nanotechnology Commercialization Education Foundation (MANCEF) and Small Tech in the Sunshine, a Florida not-for-profit acting as an advocate for micro-nano economic development in the Tampa Bay region.

Now in its eleventh year, COMS is constantly evolving with the MNT community. Together we are learning, growing and leading the effort to bring these technologies to the mainstream. MANCEF's aim is to unite the community, offering a venue for the highest commercialization exposure, while still maintaining the intimate atmosphere that fosters a true exchange of ideas and business development.

About the International Conference on the Commercialization of Micro and Nano Systems (COMS) Series

The International Conference on the Commercialization of Micro and Nano Systems (COMS) is the leading annual international conference on micro-nanotechnology commercialization and education. The Conference series fosters the commercialization of micro and nanotechnologies and addresses commercialization issues unique to these emerging and disruptive technologies.

COMS conferences are sponsored and organized by the Micro and Nanotechnology Commercialization Education Foundation (MANCEF) with the help of partners. They were first created in 1994 at BANFF in Canada as Gordon style workshops and have since developed into full-scale conferences alternating between the USA and Europe.

Conferences normally extend to 4 days and are structured to accommodate the wide-ranging needs of delegates. They comprise keynote talks, break-out sessions, networking and workshops, with an extensive supporting exhibition covering all aspects of the technologies related to commercialization, thus providing an ideal environment for the exchange of ideas and new business development. Their increasing popularity and business networking potential in terms of delegate numbers can be seen in the table below. COMS is an annual meeting point for all engaged in the business of microsystems and nanotechnology exploitation.
