Tom H. Chang
MANCEF Contributions Mr. Chang has been key to holding successful commercialization events with MANCEF in Taiwan and has served as an advisor to MANCEF on US-Taiwan initiatives. Education Tom holds a B.S. from National Tsing-Hua University of Taiwan and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of California, Davis. Tom also completed Stanford Graduate School of Business, Executive program in 2001. In addition, Tom received a Certificate of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from Stanford in 2003. Career Tom Chang has over 20 years of engineering and management experiences in magnetic recording, hard disk drive, GMR head, MEMS and nanotechnology. Tom is a serial entrepreneur. Tom has been on the founding team and Vice President, Product Development of a thin-film head company, Dastek, which was acquired by Komag. Tom was Senior Director of Wafer Engineering and Senior Director of Test Development and Characterization at Read-Rite, a leading GMR head company. Tom also worked as a Senior Engineering Manager for Samsung Information Technology (USA) and developed their first AMR based Hard disk drive. Tom was also a founding team member and Engineering Director at StorCard. Tom was the program chair for US-Taiwan MEMS Conference in 2002, the co-organizer of Asia Pacific MEMS Commercialization Forum in 2004, Conference Chair for US-Taiwan Technology and Industry Summit Forum in 2005 and 2006. © MANCEF - Micro And Nanotechnology Commercialization
