| Dr. Carline is currently Deputy Directory of the UK's Micro-Nano technology network. He is responsible for strategy, creation and management of the network and key partner relationships including Network communications and technical focus on fabrication, devices and integration. Prior to the Deputy Directorship, he was commercial manager of QinetiQ's Microsystems group following a varied and productive career as a project manager and applied physicist and researcher working for the UK governments Ministry of Defence. Education Dr. Carline is a chartered Physicist, Chartered Engineering and holds an MBA from the University of Warwick, UK. He was awarded his PhD at the University of York, UK, for work in modelling quantum well field effect transistors. Publications Dr. Carline has published papers and filed patents in the areas of design and characterisation of III-V and Silicon based transistors and optical characterisation and design ranging from real-time monitoring of epitaxial growth to design of SiGe/Si and III-V devices, including MEMS. MANCEF Contributions Dr. Carline has attended and spoken at MANCEF conferences. At COMS2005 in Baden- Baden, he gave a talk on the UK's MNT network. He supports the aims and objectives of MANCEF and is willing to serve on its Council and any relevant committees subject to availability. © MANCEF - Micro And Nanotechnology
