NNNM - Bio - Helfried WeinzerlHelfried Weinzerl
Helfried joined Oerlikon in 1995 and started as a Product Manager for Optical Disk Sputter Machines. He moved to the US as the Head of Sales, North America, for Data Storage Equipment in 2001. He helped to build up the Oerlikon Organization for Solar here in North America over the past three years which became a full-time assignment in January 2008.
Helfried holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from the Technical University in Graz, Austria. He completed a two-year postgraduate executive program in Japan -- an unforgettable highlight of his early career.
Helfried, a native of Austria, has been fascinated by Renewable Energy since his early childhood, when he first saw a water power dam in the Austrian Alps. Currently, Austria generates 60% of its electricity from renewable sources.
