"Micro and Nano Technology Pathways to Enable Low-Cost Renewable Energy"

Micro and nano technologies have revolutionized several industries in terms of cost and functionality. We are applying these technologies to energy to exploit the parallel manufacturing cost benefits and increased functionality possible. We anticipate using 10 to 1000 times less semiconductor material while still achieving high efficiency energy conversion. In addition, we expect overall system costs to be reduced through the use of microsystems.
