
Jane has worked across a number of Departments in the Government of Victoria, Australia, leading the Government’s policy development and programs in Science, Technology and Innovation for a number of years before taking a position heading the policy division in the Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development (DIIRD). In her current role she is developing the capacity to provide longer term intelligence to inform Government policy making using foresighting and technology roadmapping techniques.
Prior to joining the government Jane was a Senior Research Fellow in the Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research at the University of Melbourne. She also spent two years as Investment Manager – Biotechnology in the Victorian Investment Corporation, a government supported venture capital fund.
Jane is a member of the Executive Board of the Micro and Nanotechnology Commercialisation Education Foundation and their Vice President Asia Pacific. She is also a founding member and board member of Asia Nano Forum, and recently joined the Board of the Pascal Observatory, a group considering the role played by higher education institutions in economic development.
Jane holds a Master of Agricultural Science from the University of Melbourne. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
