Shiban Koul is a Professor and the Head of the Centre for Applied Research in Electronics at IIT Delhi. He has served as the Head of the Computer Centre during 1999-2002, Head of the Centre for Applied Research in Electronics during 1993-1996 and chairman advisory committee of library from 1997-1999.
MANCEF Contributions
Dr. Koul has has served as an advisor to MANCEF on India initiatives and is working with MANCEF to create new commercialization initiatives in India in 2005.
Education
Shiban Kishen Koul received his M.Tech Degree in Communication Engineering and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Microwave and Millimeter Wave Circuits from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in India. He is currently involved in research in the areas of RF MEMS, Active antenna, Microwave and millimeter wave active and passive circuits.

He served as the chairman of the ED/MTT chapter, India Council for six years. Prof. Koul is a senior member of the IEEE USA, Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India) and Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering. He served on the editorial board of the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques. He is currently on the Editorial boards of International Journal of RF and Microwave Computer Aided Engineering as well as Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, USA. He is also the honorary editor of the Journal of Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, India.
Publications, Patents, and Projects
Prof. Koul has authored/Co-authored 74 research papers; 6 books and 2 design software packages. He holds 4 patents and 6 copyrights. He is a consultant to several Government organizations and private industries in India and abroad. He has successfully completed 17 major sponsored projects and 55 consultancy projects. He has transferred Know-how on two major projects to industry for commercialization. These include; phase shifters for phased array radars and Microwave Integrated Circuit Educational Kit.
