Coventor Scholarship winners
Congratulations to the following students on their outstanding presentations:
Mohd Nor Nurul Izza from: La Trobe University, Australia.
For the proposal: Film Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonator in Super High Frequency (SHF) band
♦ Focused on the design and optimization of Film Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonators structure and use of different piezoelectric material to improve acoustic isolation, improve electromagnetic coupling and hence increase the Q factor of front-end circuits in super high frequency (SHF) range of 10-20 GHz front end transceiver.
Alexey Denisov from: Imperial College London, UK.
For the proposal: MEMS Structures Actuated by Wireless Power Delivery
♦ Focused on the development of a biomedical energy harvester remotely charged by collecting acoustic waves.
Kashif Riaz from the University Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI), Topi, Swabi, N.W.F.P, Pakistan.
For his proposal: Performance Enhancement of 3-DoF Non-Resonant MEMS Gyroscope and Verification through Physical and Behavioral Modeling Simulations
♦ Focused on design of a novel approach to understand the behavior of devices under different fabrication imperfections including the stress burdens due to packaging such as temperature.
Gupta et al from: Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra India
For their proposal: Performance & Analysis Of RF Front Section Of Mobile Terminal Using RF Mems DC Contact Switches
♦ Focused on RF Front end mobile terminal avoid the circuit element repeatability. Existing architecture for a triple band mobile terminal can include three duplexers, three isolators, six low noise amplifiers, three power amplifiers, six Band pass filters.
Sahil Oak from Texas Tech University
For the proposal: Micro Actuated Microelectrode Assembly for Neural Data Acquisition
♦ Focused on Electrothermal MEMS actuators for cell probing combined with a ratcheting mechanism, will allow both short and long travel of an electrode.
We want to thank Coventor for their continued support of this Scholarship program and encourage students to submit proposals for COMS 2011
